**A Lovely Family in Lawrence Park is Seeking a Newborn Care Specialist to Begin on February 1 to July 31, with Free Underground Parking!

The parents are both working professionals with a toddler (whose care will be handled by them) and a baby on the way. They are seeking a newborn care specialist who genuinely loves and wants to work with children. The families preferred start date is February 1st, 2024 but there is some flexibility for the right candidate.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM

This is a childcare-focused role, with main responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Direct baby care: feeding, diapering, soothing, settling, and burping.
- Engaging the baby in age-appropriate activities while awake.
- Baby laundry.
- Washing and sterilizing breast pump parts and bottles (if applicable), including loading and emptying the dishwasher.
- Storage and bottle prep for breast milk (if applicable).
- Bottle prep for formula (if applicable).
- Keeping the nursery tidy.
- Restocking nursery supplies.
- Logging feeds, diaper changes, and sleep.
- Participating in/performing naptime sleep training (at an appropriate age) based on parent direction.

When the baby is awake, the family would require the nanny to attend to the baby rather than doing chores.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with babies aged from birth to 6 months in a formal nanny position. They should be motivated, hardworking, and caring — someone the family can trust and feel confident handing the baby off to. The candidate must be able to perform job duties independently with minimal ongoing guidance from the parents and should be willing to follow the parents' lead and accept feedback. They should be able and motivated to actively engage the child in age-appropriate play while awake, such as tummy time and sensory activities. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable using technology to run the baby monitor (provided by the family).

Wearing a mask during shifts is required. They will also require that the nanny, if exhibiting possible symptoms of illness, not come to work. Additionally, the family's home has five floors, and they require someone with mobility and stamina to navigate the stairs as much as needed to support the baby's needs.

The family is fully vaccinated against COVID and would appreciate it if the nanny is vaccinated as well.

Note: The family has allergies/intolerances to shellfish, sesame, gluten, dust, and cats. They also don't consume pork or drink alcohol.
