A warm family in Etobicoke is looking for a long-term Family Assistant / Nanny to join their household and help make busy weekday afternoons and evenings run smoothly.

The family has two sweet young children, ages 1 and 3, who attend daycare full-time. They are looking for someone warm, engaging, organized, and proactive who genuinely enjoys working with young children and is also happy to lend a hand with family assistant responsibilities.

The position begins with Family Assistant support before daycare pickup. Once the children are home, the focus shifts to childcare, play, dinner, and helping everyone transition smoothly through the evening.

Responsibilities

Childcare:
- Pick up the children from daycare/school
- Provide warm, attentive, and engaging care
- Plan age-appropriate play, reading, and activities
- Prepare and serve simple meals and snacks
- Support after-daycare/school and evening routines
- Encourage the children's development through everyday play and interaction

Family Assistant Support:
- Family laundry and changing bed linens
- Children's organization, including clothing, toys, and supplies
- Grocery shopping and occasional errands
- Meal preparation
- Keeping the kitchen and common areas tidy
- Light vacuuming and floor clean-up as needed
- Helping the household stay organized and prepared for the week

The Ideal Candidate:
- Warm, loving, and confident with toddlers
- Reliable, organized, and proactive
- Comfortable balancing childcare and household support
- Genuinely looking for a long-term position
- Experience supporting children with speech or language development is an asset
- RECE designation or educational background is an asset

Driving is required, and the family provides a vehicle for use during working hours.
