Full-Time Nanny Needed in West Ottawa, Earn up to $40/hour!

Kanata, Stittsville or West Ottawa Area

A warm, easygoing family relocating to Ottawa is looking for a loving, patient, and reliable nanny to care for their two young children, an almost 3-year-old boy and a newborn baby girl.

Both parents are veterinarians who work long shifts, so they are looking for someone dependable, flexible, and confident caring for two young children. The family values safety, open communication, and a team approach. They hope to find someone who will become a trusted, long-term part of their family.

Their toddler loves getting out and exploring! The family would love someone active and engaging who enjoys planning outings to parks, playgrounds, museums, recreational centres, and other age-appropriate activities.

Schedule

The schedule is still being finalized, but the tentative hours are:

Tuesday: 8:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.

Wednesday: 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Friday: 8:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.

The family is looking for someone who can accommodate a combination of longer shifts and shorter days. Hours will vary depending on the parents' work schedules, and occasional weekend coverage may be requested. Hours will be guaranteed but some flexibility is required.

Responsibilities:

- Provide loving, attentive, and safety-focused care for both children
- Plan fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities and take the children on outings, walks, and to local activities
- Support infant feeding, naps, and daily routines
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Assist with children's laundry and light household tidying
- Help with occasional family laundry and meal preparation
- Maintain open communication with the parents about the children's days, routines, and development

Their older child follows a dairy-free diet and has some food-related sensory sensitivities. He currently works with a feeding therapist, so someone patient and comfortable supporting his individual needs would be ideal. Experience working with children with autism or sensory differences would be considered an asset.

The Ideal Candidate

- Warm, kind, affectionate, and patient
- Highly reliable and punctual
- Places children's safety as a top priority
- Experienced and confident caring for infants and toddlers
- Active, creative, and enjoys getting children out of the house
- A strong, open communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with parents
- Flexible with longer shifts, evenings, and occasional weekends
- Comfortable supporting children with sensory sensitivities
- Pet-friendly — the family has an older dog
- LGBTQ+

The family is relocating from Maine and expects to settle in Kanata, Stittsville, or the West Ottawa area. Their exact neighbourhood will be confirmed once housing is finalized.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced nanny who enjoys being an important part of a family's daily life and is looking for a long-term position with two loving, involved parents.

Driving is required and a vehicle will be provided.
